Turnkey / EPC Project
About This Project
Campos EPC was requested to provide total turnkey support and develop a plan to transfer a refinery’s critical fuel gas supply from an aging 3.5 miles of 8” pipeline system to a new 10” pipeline. CEPC delivered a complete EPC package, which included procurement of all materials and subcontracting of all construction services and contractors.
One of the underlying constraints of this project was that the fuel gas supply to the refinery had to remain uninterrupted during de-commissioning, stopple, construction transfer, and commissioning operations. Additionally, the new pipeline was required to be piggable to accommodate industry leading Novitech’s ultra-high-resolution smart tools and to conform to DOT 192 Transmission Integrity Management Program (IMP) requirements.
CEPC was responsible for all aspects of project construction and contracting such as: scope development, tendering bids, contractor screening and selection, inspection services, and project management. CEPC coordinated all sub-contractor activity, wrote and issued all Purchase Orders (POs) / Work Orders (WOs). These services included hydrovac operations, NDT and UT X-ray services, stopple and hot-tap operations, crane operations, surveying, hydro-test water disposal, and SCADA and instrumentation and electrical (I&E) installation.
Environmental impacts were minimized, and all work performed was in accordance with DOT 192 Operator Qualification (OQ) procedures, as well as local, State and Federal requirements. CEPC also created all the critical documentation to support the refinery’s IMP program for this new pipeline system, in addition to the DOT 192 Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals.
CEPC provided weekly project accounting and schedule updates to the Client throughout the project life cycle. We developed, engineered, designed and managed an EPC project that was safely executed and remained ‘on-budget’ from concept through close-out.
