Campos EPC is the original founding company and the flagship of the Campos Family of Companies brand. Our establishment in 2005 by our Founder and CEO, Marco Campos, was the output of his mission to create meaningful value for clients while making measurable impacts on underprivileged communities and aligning employees to the success that they bring.
With an initial focus on Pipeline Integrity in the Oil and Gas industries, through an organic growth model, Campos EPC strategically expanded service lines and geographic areas served. Marco Campos is the Founder and Chief Executive of Campos Companies and its subsidiaries. He has 20+ years of experience working in a variety of engineering, operations and consulting capacities.
He enjoys philanthropy, particularly in support of women and under-represented minorities pursuing STEM related fields. He graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder and is a licensed Civil Engineer.
He has four children and a Boxer (Larry) that comes to work with him every day. Marco enjoys bringing an entrepreneurial culture to the business and he is always seeking the next venture. Building business and aligning employees/ individuals to the success they bring is his specialty.
Matt Campano oversees all business activities as President of Campos EPC.
Since joining Campos EPC in 2020, Campano served as Director of EPC and Vice President of Eastern Region Operations prior to ascending to this role. During that time, he grew the Eastern Region to include the opening of four (4) new regional offices in Tampa, Baton Rouge, Charlotte, and Amherst. In 2021, he also co-founded Campos Fabrication and has been dedicated to the growth of Campos Fabrication into a code shop. He has decades of senior executive-level experience and sat on the Board of Directors for the Utility Contractors of New England.
Elijah Kempton serves as the Vice President, Mountain/Central/West Region at Campos EPC. He has over 20 years of technical experience on a wide range of global energy projects.
Prior to joining Campos EPC in 2021, he successfully started 3 new offices with different companies both domestically and abroad. Elijah also worked in London for 6 years and learned to create diverse, high-performance teams and a culture of transparent, collaborative teamwork. He has a BS in Chemical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and an MBA from the University of Denver. His hobbies include long-distance running and traveling the world with his family.
Jim Schaefer is our Vice President of Eastern Region Operations. Jim brings over 25 years of experience working in the Gas, Electric and Petroleum industries in a variety of leadership roles in Environmental Consulting, Business Operations, and Project/Program Management. Jim acted as Principal Hydrogeologist/Sr. Project Manager in-charge of the investigation and remediation of hundreds of contaminated industrial, commercial, gas and petroleum sites across the United States. He successfully opened a branch Long Island environmental consulting office and grew it to >85 staff and thru succession planning, influenced next in-line leaders to run several expansion offices. Later, his career transition to a market facing leadership role as Vice President of Power Delivery with emphasis on providing electric utility companies environmental permitting and planning services. His most recent role saw him leading National Grid’s UNY (NIMO) and DNY(KDLI) Complex Project Management Teams. This included supporting cross-functional efforts to advance projects through their network delivery process with an emphasis on flawless project execution.
Jim earned a BS in geology from SUNY Cortland and a MS in hydrogeology from Adelphi University. He enjoys swimming, surfing, fishing; and, boating with his wife, four children and two dogs.
Mary Campos is Principal, Risk Management at Campos EPC and responsible for overseeing our California and Utah offices. She joined Campos EPC in 2022 and has over 25 years of experience as a consultant and operations leader in the oil and gas pipeline industry working for both engineering firms and operations.
Mary earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Biology with a minor in Statistics from Rutgers University. She has a background in compliance, pipeline safety, program management, permitting, pipeline safety management, and risk management. Her hobbies include cooking, baking, infrared workouts, and enjoys spending time with her family.
Andy has worked in the U.S. energy industry for over 22 years with an emphasis in major program development, detailed design for natural gas and energy systems, hydrogen programs, strategy, deployment, and project development. He has been involved with leading and managing technical personnel and building and growing new revenue streams for organizations. Andy has developed full engineering programs for many large utilities across the US for safety and operational improvements which consist of program scoping/planning, development of engineering standards, integration of new technology, collaboration with key stakeholders, Gas Control Room training, control philosophies, commissioning plans, field maintenance, emergency response procedures, and gas system planning. His areas of specialty include hydrogen (program development and engineering designs), natural gas station engineering and design with a focus on measurement, regulation, controls, and valve automation. He is responsible for engineering and design at Campos including business strategy and development, client relationships, strategic hiring of senior team members, quality management, supporting project execution, setting KPI’s, and technical oversight.
Susann was hired as employee number 35 at Campos EPC and has been with the company for over 10 years. She and Marco have been working closely with one another since well before the inception of Campos EPC and she has played a critical role in the design, implementation, and rollout of the Campos EPC Quality Standards and Process. Currently overseeing our Quality Department out of Montana, she has over 20 years of experience in the engineering field beginning her career as a Project Engineer and progressing into positions of increasing management responsibility in the fields of Pipeline and Facilities Construction and Automation.
Joshua Jenkins is the Principal of EIC and Power Delivery, where he is responsible for all electrical-related engineering and design services across the company. Josh has worked for Campos EPC for over 5 years and has 19 years of experience in heavy industrial power systems, including oil and gas, power generation, renewables, mining, transmission, distribution, and substations.
Josh earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with Mechanical and Electrical Specialty, as well as a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering for Energy Systems and Power Electronics from Colorado School of Mines. Josh is a registered Professional Engineer in Colorado and 13 other states.
Outside of work, his interests include quality time with his wife and two boys, cooking, traveling, and supporting the Autism community.
Cory Richins is the Principal over turnkey Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects for Campos EPC. His focus is on providing proper project delivery systems that allow Campos EPC to be focused on client alignment, ethics, performance, compliance, and being schedule driven with employee utilization. Cory has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Spanish and a Master’s in Business Management. Cory enjoys golfing, and skiing, and loves to serve in his community along with his wife and 5 children.
